Microsoft wanting to buy yahoo?

I was watching the news the other day and how yahoo is in trouble mainly due to the loyalty people have with google. Microsoft had placed a id for yahoo as they were looking to sell but one of the main guys didn't want to sell it although all of the shareholders wanted to sell.

Just wondered what people thought on the issue and if you feel that if microsoft did every take over yahoo if ti would create unhealthy competition..

personally i'd welcome the idea... microsoft could pile in the $ and take on google. :D:D:D

Whatever happens, it's not like it's gonna change a lot. The big three are all money-loving companies with the same intention: becoming bigger >.<

I think it would be pretty cool if Microsoft bought Yahoo. I don't know if they would make any drastic changes to it or not.

Yahoo has been going down hill for quite some time, if Microsoft
buys yahoo then google may have some competition.

I hope MS will become a stronger performer on the search engine market.
Google has no competition right now and that ain't good for nobody (except Google of course :D)

I'd prefer it if Yahoo managed to escape from Microsoft's clutches but it doesn't look like they are going to be able to!

Yahoo are looking good at the moment especially with the upcoming release of their open search and the development of the semantic web. Changes like this could sway searches their way and increase market share. They just need to simplify that home page of theirs!

They may be buying up Yahoo in the open market already who knows? With the turbulent market it is really time to pick up shares on the cheap. Microsoft has tons of cash in reserve to be used for such actions.

Yahoo board turn down the offer, but Microsoft can still do a hostile bid for Yahoo.

It's hard to keep up with the MS bids, Yahoo rejecting bids, MS and Yahoo meeting to discuss terms, Yahoo meeting with everyone else to get out of dealing with MS... Arrgghhh!

I've been reading Silicon Alley Insider they have up to date coverage of the MS-Yahoo bid via concise articles.

Search Engines Market revolves around the monopolist "Google", and it is time to put an end to such situation. Microsoft's intention to buy Yahoo is welcomed, but endangered at the same time. Maybe it will bring to Microsoft's dominance?????

We need free competitiveness at the market to avoid any monopoly. I've read about newly launched incubator of search engines - OMFICA that has a mission to create competitive market for advanced search technologies. Maybe it will succeed...

I don't like the idea of microsoft buying yahoo. I like my yahoo email, and I don't want it to start behaving like windows lol. But on the other hand, if I were the yahoo owner I would sell it. I don't think they can compete with google on their own.

I would love this transaction to become real, just because then Google will have a hudge competitor to "fight" with. And that is much better for webmasters, because Google will have to drop prices on online ads.

I don't think that Micorsoft and Yahoo merger will make any changes on the market, coz the Google's dominance and power in internet is much more than the others unitedly.
