I've recently purchased AVS which allows me to pull videos from YouTube and incorporate them into my site quite nicely. I'm concerned as to whether using such a script would be in violation of Google's TOS. I've emailed support and have had them reply with their typical "Err on the side of caution". Anyone using this script and have any comments?
I don't know that it violates the AdSense TOS, but it might violate the one for Youtube. A quick read would let you know. Right off the top of my head, I would guess it's not allowed. But then, if it is just taking the existing code for each Youtube video, maybe it is Ok. So, really, I am not sure!
I've read the TOS for both Google & Youtube. The AutoVideoScript simply uses the Youtube API and calls the videos directly and has a place inside the script config that allows you to put adsense there. I've seen several other sites using it but I don't want to sacrifice the income that I have by adding this feature to my site and getting banned in the process.
No It's 100% Legal. I have a similar website using a similar script to pull YouTube music videos using the API and Google accepted it. Don't worry about it!
I'm using PHP Melody. Check it: www.phpsugar.com It's only for Music Videos but it's the best one in that kind of scripts.
OK, but how does one determine if the videos are legit. Youtube should be removing the videos that violates its own TOS correct?
