I am happy to announce that I've hit the #1 spot in Google's SERPs for my keyword "proxy newsletter" WooHoo! I've learned so much from reading the posts here at DP, and just wanted to thank everyone who helped me aloong the way. Best of luck to all!
The best thing you could do at this point, and I honestly haven't seen this suggestion posted anywhere else on this forum, is to go out and buy yourself one of those gigantic foam hands with the pointy finger and the #1 written on the side. It might not help your SERP, or your PR, or anything else... but until you slip it on I don't think your victory will be complete.
Hey Buddy, congrats on that move. Just remember, dont stop working cause competition doesnt sleep...! congrats!
I have number one results for lots of terms. It's just no one ever searches them. Google trends shows under 5 searches a day, and that's just a guestimation. It could very well be zero.
Congratulations. Some stats on traffic would be nice and maybe inspire some more of us to try a bit harder ;o)
well, I was about to say: "who searches for proxy newsletter anyway?" but i made a quick search and it appears to be a quite popular topic. So... congrats! Otherwise, being the number one on google is quite simple... just pick a topic that nobody cares of
Thanks, all, for the positive re-inforcement. I especially like the idea about the giant foam hand! The techniques I used were the ones you can find here on DP with a quick search. Nothing Arcane or fancy....keyword anchor text in backlinks, use of h1 &h2 tags, good keyword density...that kind of thing. I can't give you exact traffic stats because I haven't added Analytics yet (bad jamm!). And my host, unfortunately, only has webstats for my entire account combined so there's no way of seeing what the individual sites are doing. However...more than 150 new subscribers have signed up in the past week, so that makes me happy! Not complacent...just happy that things are getting better and better. To your success!
