I've been offerred $2,000 for this 1 year old PR3 (previously PR4) domain: http://tinyurl.com/2ukyk6 I don't personally know the person who has made the offer (or whether it may be a scam). Is this a fair price? I think it sounds too good to be true. Thanks.
I think it is possible, job sites can make a lot of cash and I would say that is a really good name. I would not sell it for less than $1,500 good luck
Thanks. Previous appraisals on DP nowhere near this valuation: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=366866&highlight=boxofjobs.com http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=243437&highlight=boxofjobs.com
Do so, or you could ask him for more and see what he says. If he really wants the site he should be prepared to pay a bit more.
I should mention if you were offered $2k I would message back saying you were hoping for something closer to $5k and see what they say. Do you have it listed for sale somewhere? Are they asking you to get a professional appraisal first?
My thoughts exactly. If it was their first offer, then they probably low balled you. If they ask for an apprasial before selling, tell them they can buy one if they want. BTW, I don't see any PR on the site in your link. I see the problem. No PR for www version but PR without. If you keep this site, you may want to correct this. Good luck with your sale.
Be very careful before transferring your domain. You have no recourse if you transfer this and the guy stiffs you. Draw up a contract and get contact info before making any exchanges. Also money in advance might not be a bad idea either.
Thanks everyone. To respond: 1. The domain does have PR3 on the www. - just not when viewed through tinyurl 2. The buyer wants to use http://www.safefunds.com/ for the transfer (they mentioned this in the original email) and send me a purchase agreement 3. They haven't requested an appraisal 4. I have accepted the offer but they haven't responded yet. After some of the posts here, I may now go back and say that after taking advice I believe that $5K is an appropriate figure. I think they've already offered WAY too much, so I guess they must want the domain for a serious business proposition.
I can't see tinyurl.com with my anti-virus program blocking it. PR3 doesn't have anything to do with the value of >$1.000 domain. Safefunds' conditions as an escrow service seem ok, I haven't heard of them before. Other safe options at your disposal are: bank transfer and Western Union so you won't end up in the situation to send your domain and never recieve the payment.
