    i am running a forum. Is it fair to ask for donation of users just to make ONE post in my forum? i dont want money :) i know it sounds crazy but will it work in terms of promotion?

    Sure. The only thing you should fear is that they start spamming.

    best way to get a forum jump staretd is by getting some paid posts. they are very cheap too. average cost for one paid post is about $.10 and it gets cheaper when you buy in bulk. you can ask for donation posts but it wil take time and you wont get very good result. go under content creation of this forum and you will get lot of packages for paid forum posting.

    no will will post and participate on an empty forum, so paid post is a good way to get some activity and entice visitors to join
