vBulletin is a paid forum software but if you want a free hosting forum then i recommend you www.phpbb.com

If you're looking for a host that can host forums properly and have a great support then this is my recommendation:
    http://tinyportalhosting.net/

It's the one I'm hosting my forum as well.

They can host all forum softwares.

If you need a free forum software to go with that hosting then I recommend SMF.
    http://www.simplemachines.org

If you're ok with SMF then you can ask the staff from TP to set up one for you and it's free to do so.

    Good luck

Any Linux host can do for you. The issue now: how busy your site is :)

yeh i was looking at phpbb and hosting it at webhosting they offer a lot of space and bandwith for like 4$ a month, i dont mind paying as long as its reliable and offers a lot of space. im in the process of starting up a forum, which i think is going to go pretty big, as long as i get the word out there.

if it's a forum then i dont recommend going for oversellers such as hostgator, godaddy or bluehost and any other host that has prices the same as those i mentioned above

you'd be better of paying $7 monthly to a host that can properly support a forum than paying $4 or less for a host that terminates your account cause too many people are using your forum

although try googling "geekracks" , i heard they're proper hosting that charges $4 monthly for a good set of space and bandwidth, the price seems like an overseller but i heard some good reviews from them, might wanna check that out too
