Do you think student union play a role in politics? I think yes. Student is the future of any country and they play a great role in development of any country. They are young and they feel how our country running! What is your opinion about the student politics and its role?
Students are mere tools in the hands of politicians. Most student Union leaders get paid by politicians, have their own gangs of thugs, and vandalize and destroy property in every election, causing disruption to academic sessions in Universities, beating up rivals and doing politicians dirty work in the name of organizing grass-roots. Student Unions have a "Mob Mentality", in that they follow their leader blindly, instead of actually taking part in the political process constructively. That is my opinion on what I have witnessed first-hand. If your opinion differs, or you have a different experience, please do share.
Mixing study with politics is like mixing wine with gasoline, it destroys the value of both. Students should focus on studies and other studently things. Besides what Gauharjk said is true, student politicians usually are the thugs bullies and dropouts of their class.
You are write but there are another thing also with it. If student is the future of country in its real sense then it would have been take their position. On the student union and its future I had written an article which was published on an online article magazine. That was Student Union and Future of Country. It was the time when a student unions election was to be held in Delhi. For this there was a call for students who is little bit active, have some emotion and thinking about the future of country that was - "For this at first we will have to unite, and will have to fight against unemployment, poorness and propaganda of election. We will have to find out a option, which could prove a humanistic society."
The article on Student Union is really great. It is in Indian context but the experience of all students show your articles. "All the promised have been seen by us earlier, continuously, higher education getting costly, which poor student are not able to afford. On the other hand, numbers of seats for admission is much less. On the third ways, if a poor students passed out from the college although he is not able then after wondering for a job gives him frustration and disappointment". From this article the paragraph is liked by me much. I will comment here latter my experience also about student unions.
The article not only announced some positive direction but also it reveled political propaganda. I want some opinion also on this topic also.
