If you think the e-mail is fake just go to http://affiliates.ebay.com/. The news is right there on the front page.

Unless you have hundreds of links hardcoded into your sites I doubt it will be much work to convert. Even if you do it hopefully won't involve more than a quick search and replace. I just hope the reporting and service gets better and not worse!

 

Well, I am really looking that they will accept publishers from small and non-western countries too. So far I see they will create Italy Ebay, India Ebay and so on, just read their site. Ukraine Ebay will be hardly to believe, lol, but being accepted to one of current just OK with me

 

It's going to be crazy at first but definitely a HUGE positive in the long run!

 

Odd how it isn't mentioned on CJ. I forwarded the email to the spoof department just to make sure and I'm waiting for a reply.

 

i think its for the better, CJ's tracking has been pretty terrible lately and if ebay has inhouse there should be no problem with that

 

I have to agree wth maherov...I'm always leary of CJs tracking - this could make a big difference.

 

The emails are "legal" for the ones who keep saying that they are not.. Got emailed by all the eBay affiliates (around 7?) directly from CJ. Plus the link they provide in eBay site exists..

 

i guess they now should pay through paypal as their commission fast and friendly

 

The only thing that worries is if they will keep fees or not.. Like an ordinary payment.. :/ Hmm

I can not see them forcing fees on us for accepting payments via Paypal, I would hope that they keep the option for direct deposit though. I do want another step to get my money in the bank.

 

what would be hilarious would be them accidentally not realising the crossover and us managing to get commissions from both the new scheme and the old for that month...unlikely but you never know..

my one concern is they will be a little harsher with regards to letting sites use the system later - e.g. cut out loads of crap sites/users?

 

Surprised I am yet to get the email,must not like me. Hopefully the BANS fix is quick and easy.

 

Oh well, as it appears to be real let's hope it's easy to change all the link details and get paid. A "find and replace" should be easy enough to do throughout the websites and I expect ebay will either pay through Paypal or electronic transfer. I wonder how much we'll have to clock up before they pay out?

Nor did I! Fortunately, my auction stuff all runs off one basic template, so that will be easy enough.

Speaking of which, is ANYONE interested in saving money on BANS, and using my dirt-simple Wordpress template to do this? It's Wordpress-based and ALL it does is use an alternative template, and takes the page title as the keyword, very basic, but I have used it on a number of sites. You can generate a new page in seconds, and I have built in link-obfuscation as well, as you can see, without any database use.

If there is any interest, I can make a "public" version (i.e. easy to modify) once the eBay-CJ changes go through - I wouldn't charge for it, it would FREE and "as is"! But I won't bother if there's no interest.
