Why does God have to come from something? Because our human mind demands the answer? There are many things readily accepted in our minds without questioning them. Why would a belief in God be exempt? Because someone says so? It needs deeper thinking than that.

I don't mind at all that people say something like "according to my findings I don't believe God exists". But that is quite different to someone saying "I don't believe God exists. Therefore, God does not exist and everyone that thinks God does exist is a fool, idiot (put whatever word you think fits here)".

Some just need to pull their arrogant heads in and let it go. No one likes an arrogant man or woman when it comes to beliefs. However, this is an Internet Forum and many can hide behind computer screens and say pretty much anything they like. Me, I take these types of comments with a grain a salt and give it as much due respect as it deserves.

When someone can talk openly and calmly about the existence or non-existence of God without reverting to accusations, slander, arrogance etc..I will respond in a diligent manner.

Because a theists biggest argument for existance is the earth couldn't have came from nothing yet god could have. Ridiculous.

Care to point out which comments?

I am a theist and that is by no means my biggest argument. If you look through my prior posts in P&R threads you will see many times my reasoning behind my belief in God's existence and those comments by me don't even touch on science or the earth. However, it does touch on human behaviour.

Not yours. There are others in this thread that know what I am talking about. Just wait. They will spring to action soon.

Perhaps not yours, but if you take a look at webwork's post they basically say:

Earth couldn't have existed because I say so.
God has always existed, because you guessed it, I said so.

Of course there's no evidence of what he's talking about or nothing to back it up. The whole issue is so pointless to debate, nobody even knows what happened. At least I'm willing to admit that, unlike some people (webwork).

Earth does exist, but was definitely created. I'm not sure how you reason that Earth was uncreated, but I will let you respond to this.

I didn't leave you red rep, why would I.

Because Earth is matter + space and has a date of creation.

    Rub3X, hope you're taking notes.

How do we know god isn't matter? Oh that's right you know everything, but cite 0 sources.

Way to select which parts of science to listen to. Instead of using science as a tool to prove your fallacies, use it to educate yourself.

Congrats, you have a fan base. Is this person going to come out and show me where I was "verbally owned"? Is this person then going to grow up?

God has no beginning and no end, therefore no date of creation.

God to me is a universal force.

This is just my opinion, and something I found based off of a lot of research and introspection.

There's millions of things we do not know. It was not long ago that it was common belief that the world was flat. We have such a long way to go when it comes to the development of our species as a whole.

I used to be athiest, but I spent about a month researching the following questions:

    1. Is God real, where did he come from?
    2. How was the universe created?
    3. How was life created? Is life just a random fluke?

See Are We Real? starting from 6:30 chapter 2. It basically explains how cosmologists recently found that if the universe changed even slightly (1/1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000... of a chance) then it would not be fit to foster life. This reeks of intelligent design.

    I'm not a believer, so I can't help...
But can I ask believers to ask God in their prayers to act instead of watching the 25,000 infants who died of malnutrition yesterday. And also for the 25,000 who died today. So he might move His little finger to avoid the death of the 25,000 who will die anyway of malnutrition....Thanks God, You're up there...

Yawn tiresome, just admit that's purely your opinion and nothing more.

    Ty.

If christianity had anything to do with it, we'd still think that.

Really? Can you show me what changed your mind? Can you show me the evidence you found?

Me too I spent searching the following questions:

1)Why is this rapist praying in jail how good it was to rape these little girls, with a Jesus on a cross tatooed on his back?
2)Why is this 9 years old girls died in deep pain for 8 years of cancer, even if she was asking everyday God to let her live a normal life?
3)Why God is whatching, day after day, these 25,000 infants dying of malnutrition?

I found my answer to these...

I already told you what I did - I can only tell doors I took, I can't push anyone through them, nor would I want to. When you don't look you won't find, especially when you know what you find won't be real. Your reality is your own, and mine just the same.

This is an argument I hear once in a while. When it comes to the real world we live in now, it's safe to say the superpowers like America control what goes on right now, in the moment. Instead of spending a trillion dollars on a war we don't need, feed the kids.

But this doesn't happen, as you know.

It's called free will. We're responsible for our own actions. We've merely been given the gift of life. What we do with it is our own collective decision.

Why should a superpower feed the kids when your superhero can? What about the girl with cancer, can the U.S come to her rescue too? The guy in jail?

    1. Probably because he's a psycho rightly incarcerated... and someone in jail will surely shank him, like they do all other child molestors.
    2. Nobody knows for sure where cancer comes from, I would put my money on Pollution.
    3. The better question is why are we watching people suffer everyday and not doing anything about it? Since when was God mankinds babysitter?

While there is a lot of philanthropy going on in the world, currently most of mankinds focus is on war and money. It will change eventually, but not yet.

I can understand it's human nature to always want more and to have solutions to the world's problems handed over on a silver platter.

But humble yourself a little and realize that life is a miracle in and of itself.

    Don't forget to read OT.

You are tired of all this at what age???

Man...so many people can't be bothered to search out things. I was like that for 30 years. I took one look at religion and decided to not even bother (because of most mainstream religion's history). 30 YEARS i thought like this!! Then I finally opened up my peripheral vision and gave the Bible a chance. I am sure glad I did. Otherwise I would still be moping around today thinking about how this life really sucks and there's nothing anyone can do about it.
