I love vista. It works perfectly. Much better than XP In my opinion, and thats coming from an experienced computer user. And ARonald is correct, you do need a fairly powerful - midrange system for it to work well.

I run the vista home premium on :

    Intel Core2Duo 1.66GHz 667MHz
    2GB DDR2 RAM 667MHz
80GB SATA HDD with 28GB FREE
    Intel 945GM Chipset

    1-it run like suck,
    2-starting slow,
3-running programme often sudden stop working, programme close but still present in the task manager and cannot end the process even and have to restart to solve it,
    4-no responding sometimes,
5-sometimes take too long time to shut the computer down, etc

So now I shift to Fedore Core 8

Don't know how such big firm their programmers doing what?Keep releasing the patches?

Seems like some compatibility issue more than Vista's fault.

I love vista. Have it on all my PC's and everyone I know has it. Runs fine if you have the correct system. I did try to run it on my old PC (which was really bad) and I sounded like it was shredding the harddrive.

Its easy to use and looks cool!

After initially not liking the OS, I have been using Vista for about 5 months now and I really like it! There are always some issues, but nothing major... it runs very smoothly once its all booted up :D

I love the GUI of Vista, but I prefer to use Windows XP Professional 64-bit edition. Vista is a great operating system once you have removed the unnecessary junk and disabled the useless services. However, with Windows XP Pro 64-bit edition, my laptop will be much faster than right now.

I am using my laptop as a workstation so I want to get the best performance possible. I have to keep Vista until Sony releases the fz410e downgrade drivers.

Seems Microsoft loves doing this. I think it has to do with the fact that people love hacking into their system so easily that Microsoft changes things around to slow them down.

I think people who think Vista sucks is because they run in to driver problems that slow down vista / make it not work. This isn't vista's fault, this is the software's fault. The companies that can't keep up with updating thier software sucks!

Vista is alright with me. I have a laptop with the following specs:
AMD Athlon X2 TK53+ Dual Core Mobile with AMD Power NOW Technology
    2 GBs DDR2 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 LE 559 MB Graphics
    250 GB SATA HDD

I run PCSX2 with good framerates of around 30-40 FPS :) That in itself satisifies me... I also do have a tendency to run Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash Professional , Windows Media Player, Firefox, and Notepad all the same time with little issues.

I also run this applications with XP with no problem. Which is why most people don't upgrade. No need to since XP does such a great job.

You can reformat your hard drive and put XP on it..but I have Vista on my pc and I have no problems with it at all. I wouldn't worry about getting it.

Ask Dell to install XP instead of Vista. You won't be the first customer that ask for this.
