    Oddly enough Wikipedia says a million posts a day are made there

    Gaia gave people "gold" for each post. The gold could be used for a lot to buy clothing and other stuff for your avatar. That gave people an incentive to post more, which allowed them to get posts VERY VERY fast. There are even threads on there with nothing but bumps that have a hundred thousand replies.
