How can I add an AV video to Dreamweaver 8??

I am trying to add a short AVI video to a dreamweaver 8 made website.

I have been trying to add it as 'media' - 'pluggin', ive uploaded the video to my movies file on my site, and have even added Video_TS file, but all im getting is a video box with the play button, but its not playing.

Any suggestions?

I would really suggest encoding it into something else besides AVI. AVI is a very nasty format that many players do not like to play, or play properly. It is often used for DVD rips and things of that nature, but isn't practical for web use. What player is it trying to play in?

 

It was just a standard playing that dreamweaver has installed. What format would you suggest?

 

Well if all possible, flash is going to be your best bet. It is probably the most general format around, as most computers will be able to play it. Another format would probably be mpg just because it plays in both Quicktime and Windows Media Player.

 

So how does one convert an AVI into flash?

 

flash comes with a flv converter that will convert and export into flash, the best way to put a embed a video in dreamweaver is just the media embed button if the media you are trying to embed is not supported just google search: html, embed "your media type"
