It's going to be a pain for many, but it's a good thing, maybe we'll get higher commissions now that CJ is out of the loop, I'm sure they were paid big $$ for their part..... the reporting should be better as well....
I don't see why eBay wouldn't able to offer us near real-time sale statistics if they're doing it themselves. Can't wait till April 1st to try it out
i see this as a good thing. if ebay is going to the trouble of supporting their affiliate program in house then obviously they have intention of keeping the affiliate program going for a long time to come. they could of just as easily shut it off, think how bad that woulda sucked.
Dream on. I can't see any chance of that. That said, it seems there's a 5% bonus on all commissions generated in April which is an incentive to make the switch early, if I've read the message correctly.
I don't think anyone mentioned it, but Ebay will be running CJ stuff for a month at the same time until the cutover. Just got the email, and noticed that part. I couldn't imagine they would cut people off like that.
Is this for real? It's supposed to be happening on April fools day. I get so many phishing and spoof emails these days that I don't trust any of them any more!
Yeah, weird...I haven't received any emails from any of the ebay affiliate programs i belong to in CJ and I make several thousands of dollars with them. Plus I'm at 5 bars in CJ? Can't find anything in my inbox at CJ nor my email inbox and spam box about this news. But obviously its true if you take a look at the affiliates.ebay.com website it says
it sure will suck updating all them links we have made, but i sure hope that the ebay aff team will finally answer all our questions when we send them emails or post on the bay aff forums??? If things stay the same as far as lack of email replies for aff help this will really suck!!! Jeff
This is big news. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Hopefully we'll have less delays and less reporting problems.
I can't imagine the links changing very much.. but what's going to hurt is the PID, I'm sure we'll need to re-add all our sites in eBay's interface and get new channel/ID value for individual site tracking. hanji
Great, and I am going to be gone for a few days in April. I hope the transition is smooth. I have a years worth of links scattered all over the place.
Yes, your affiliate performance bar that you see in the right hand when you login to the CJ control panel. Receiving payments through CJ might be a nice bonus out of this situation while I still hope they support direct deposits. Transfering money through paypal to your bank account can be a pain (7-10 business days). Also I would hope there would be much more detailed reporting about auctions and so forth now that its inhouse.
guys, check the whole path of the email, its been sent out with a mx5.cj.com , if you research on google that domain or email (whatever you wanna call it) seems to be spam.....am i wrong?
