Infractions, Infractions & More Infractions

I'm sick of getting infractions for no reason. I understand that there are hundreds of people on here and the staff has to do what they can to keep people in line but I got two infractions right back to back over absolutely nothing.


1st infraction was for posting a duplicate thread. I don't even know where I posted a duplicate thread if I did it was the forums fault not mine. Its not my fault because it places the same thread twice in the same area.


2nd infraction was for posting in the wrong area. If I need services done and I post in the service area how is that incorrectly?


Geez things like this make active members want to leave.

I aggree. If I am offering web hosting for $2, they will send it over to freebies, and give me and infraction. How did I possibly put it in the wrong forum? just because its not over $5 doesn't mean it has to go in the freebies!

look, I think shawn is the smartest god damn person in this world, but if he wants to keep this forum going as strong as it is right now, he has got to take care of this infraction shit.

me too when the digg announcement appear i do as they write i report all my digg service topics and after this igot infraction why this idont know

 

Hey by starting a thread like this, you are inviting another infraction. I suggest you to request the kind mods to remove the thread.

 

You wouldn't have received infractions for digg threads started before the announcement. If you did PM a mod.

 

Well maybe I will but for what reason? Voicing my opinion? I haven't done anything wrong by starting this thread.

if there is fair in this forum they will keeep the topic because its chat forum and if there is any fair ill finds my self banned tomorrow

 

If they give out infractions and bans for starting a discussion in general chat then its not a very respectable forum to start with.

 

i understand you are upset about this but that's a fact. even i had recieved two infractions for the same thread! then i started a thread like this. then some nice people showed up and suggested me what i am suggesting you to do. That's it.

I understand what your saying but I started the thread for a reason. There is no direct way to contact admins or mods so I want to know why people get infractions over nothing. If I was sitting here spamming the board, creating multiple accounts, trying to cause a scam or whatever then yes fine ban me or give me infractions.

I thought being an active part of an online community is what kept it running successful. If I get infractions for every 10 posts I make do you think thats going to make me want to continue posting?

 

just keep in mind how would you feel if you were in viewers situation:

rules regarding $5 = freebies section was set ages ago and say you were the owner of forum how would you feel people ignoring the rules? would you jsut ket the keep posting free will?

how would you feel if someone in your forum, keep saying Why, Why, Why, would you jsut let him/her keep doing so without swearing and being mean to the whiner? Only option = close the thread or give infraction to calm other down

how would you feel if your forum about serious political disccusion forum grows more in talks in general chats and digressing? of course DP is for webmasters to socialize and share ideas regarding online activities, and threads will be bound to be closed if unrelated or way out of topic.

i am not saying it for DP as I myself have had MANY infractions before and I learn from there.
Yes I had my moments asking about infractions when I first joined and later I just cool off and dont mind anymore. Its betetr of to ignore.. life's so much easier. (Feel free to panic when at 9 infractions though)

 

The point of this forum is for webmasters to give and receive resources from others, conduct business, find jobs or hire others and so forth.

By simply doing so over half of this forum has been given infractions without just cause.

I am not referring to those individuals that constantly go out of their way to break the rules (spamming, multiple accounts, posting affiliate links, scamming or stealing). If you don't understand what I'm saying then I'm not sure how to get my point across.

 

Once i got 8 in 30 seconds, so get over it and be more productive.

 

for small forums it is easy to detect if someone is posting i wrong category but in bigger forums you have your advantage and disadvantage:

advantage: not all wrong thread starters are given infractions. Some's were skipped/not seen
disadvange: If your wrong category thread is caught, then infraction is deserved to maintain forum

there are always causes for infractions, also thus only mods/admins can give so.
-rep on the other side can also result in such cases by other members finding/disagreeing with your posts and those can come with or without cause but infractions come with cause
