I don’t think bidding directories should sell sitewide links.

Why bother bidding to be on the homepage if someone can come along and buy a sitewide.

    Thanks Brian

This has been mentioned a few times before, and I think that Brian has said all that needs to be said.

Totally agree - it defeats the object of having a bidding directory

Selling site-wides on a bid directory is unfair, especially if it wasn't there when the first bids were made.

Sorry i couldn't stop my self from finding out the url of this "Ugly directory" as you termed it :)
Just searched in Google for the whole sentence that you had inside that red oval circle. And found the directory.

Amazingly, the owner was selling the directory few days back but did not receive good bids. And just few days before he offered Link exchange on the same directory. Now how can one go with Link Exchange in bid directories

Just one word summarizes it all "UnEthical" or "No Ethical" whatever it is...

2 is the night-directory.com that I use to own. Not sure who owns it now as it was sold by matik.
5 is voisd.com - owned by DP member sabian.

My opinion is that everyone is handle his directory as he wants and by that choises have the users and bidders that he deserves. There are many things that directory owners do or dont do that effect the quality of a directory in the eyes of the users that we have to list 40% of the directories in this thread if we tell it one by one.....

I think we all agree that selling site wide links on a bidding directory is unethical
however. I'm sure the people who are bidding to get their site listed on the front
page is aware of this but they do it anyway.

Whilst I agree that sidewide links are unethical on bid directories (I did offer it in the start of my bid directory, but removed them now), what about promoting your other sites? I do this on my directory, but if the general consensous is that it's unethical I'll remove it.

unethical - i dont see how that term relates. As I see they are violating the terms which were set by some members here at DP thats all, but in reality it is their website and they have a freedom to do what they please. If you don't like it then don't bid. Simple.....

hey I own night-directory.com now...I didint know that you were the previous owner.

After reading these posts I removed the site wide links apart from one, thats the link leader..:)

I didn't really know there was a big fuss about them otherwise I would not have placed them there in the first place, but thanks for pointing it out as its only fair without them.
