I believe that the problem is that many Internet marketers only do a little of each marketing strategy. They might write 10 articles, submit a few ads a week, and that's hardly enough to earn a solid income. That is the majority (and that is a huge majority) of Internet marketers are doing. They are giving every marketing strategy a little go, but they never make a real go at it! On the other hand, those who focus on one tactic and make that tactic successful first, such as focusing solely on search engine optimization to get good rankings, and earn a solid income on that tactic before moving on to others, usually generate good figures. That tactic can even be seeking joint ventures full-time or simply focusing on pay per click marketing alone. The trick is to be a master at one tactic. Discover what your strengths and weaknesses and build your marketing strategy around that. Focus on one strategy for at least the first six months. That could be writing articles for traffic, search engine optimization or pay-per-click marketing. Master that tactic first and generate respectable figures from that before moving on to other tactics. This forces you to become great at that one tactic. You will become better at it than 97% of the other people who are using that same tactic. Choose one marketing tactic and really focus on it, until you are generating serious traffic figures and income from it. This is one guaranteed way to ensure you do not get sidetracked and put your efforts in to too many things.
What type of structure for what methods to use in what order? Say I have an online arcade site that I want to promote. I do the typical joining of the toplist sites, go out and do my regular forum posts. They of course have signatures with links to my sites.....then you go to the next step of say putting yourself in several if not hundreds of hand picked quality web link sites. As for the bookmarking and the articles, I've had a very difficult time grasping that concept....I mean the concept behind my writing an article would be for others to bookmark it, holding a link in the article I would assume to my web site, but then you find yourself having to market the article....I mean bookmarking the article yourself I feel is a bit of a sleazy way of trying to drum up some traffic, not to mention I think in most places it will get you black balled I think, so Where how and when I guess is the real question as far as making a real website marketing plan.....of course for another site such as a links/articles site the basics I assume would be the same with the differences being where?
I'd say it's spending so much time in forums looking for the next scheme to take advantage of. If they spent the same time marketing that they do browsing posts and gossiping, they would be rolling in cash.
A common mistake people have is that making money on the internet is easy. It takes a lot of hard work.
In actually it does do a little good for some to troll through forums. For one, they do tend to be a decent source of information a lot of times. Also the signature put in every post is a great marketing tool as far as back links etc.
inspiring..but u hav to admit that with a new site it is temptin to try out all methods and tactics coz it could potentially increase ur traffic and promote ur site, n also most successful websites give all de mehtods in their 'how to build web traffic' post which means they used all methods and are successful so basically it depends i guess.
Well...while the point of the original article is to point out the fact you should concentrate all your efforts on one of the forms of marketing before moving on to the next. I don't know as, after putting a little thought to it I can agree with it. I mean, I'm not going to put up a wall around my website with a ticket gate asking for the tickets to those that get there by using a particular invitation, at the same time, you don't put all your eggs in one basket. Seems to me, the best way of marketing is to focus on the form that market research suggests would give you the best response at the same time you follow it up with the other methods that you can financially and/or physically include along with it, why would you want to limit the amount of marketing you get just because it fell outside of a particular targetted scope?
yes i can related to that. i thought IM was easy and fast but it's not so... it's all about the hype!
So many people get all hyped up and excited. Then, when they've made barely anything over their first month, they give up. Giving up is a sure step towards failure!
Exactly. If you plan on making good money from internet marketing then you better treat it like a job.
Not only that, you need to know your market, priced reasonable, and do a good job. I have never did any Marketing and my company has been doubling every year. Now that I am doing Marketing I like the numbers that I see.
Exactly you need to be in this business for the long term. I know so many stories of people who didnt make a dime the first 6 months and now a year later make $20k+ a month. It takes time to perfect your skills whether it be marketing, presenting, or closing the sale. Be in it for the long term and not as a get rich quick type of thing. Chris
A lot of knowledge and time must be invested and a lot of time must be spent perfectioning your skills in order to become a successful webmaster, I believe I've improved a lot since I started, a lot thanks to this forum and I will improve more
Somes will even think about dirty tricks but at the end, it turn out to be useless and they must start from sratch.
Most of the people fail because they try to follow some patterns. They don't know anything about the niche and they shouldn't have started Internet business at all on the first place.
Most people don't even take action at all though, I recommend they take a course called Simpleology which will teach then how to get off their buns and not be afraid to DO SOMETHING.
well once you hit dp and become a memebr you r going to start making money easily as this is the best forum to learn every source of internet money making
