    Hi

I have quite a few websites which are doing well and quite a few picking up and many more under development

Right now my hosting is all spread out among hostgator, 1 and 1, godaddy, startlogic and few smaller hosts

My website kitty includes, many database driven sites like, travel portal, article site, directories, blogs, plain sites, few script based sites and many more strong script based database driven sites under development

Managing all the sites under many hosts is a pain and moving all of them under one host is dangerous

I was thinking for quite sometime now to get a dedicated server for all my sites, so the management becomes much easier

    What do you guys suggest?
Should i go for a dedicated server or just transfer all the sites to one host with a shared hosting?
If it is a dedicated server what should be the configuration?

It all depends on the amount of traffic these sites get, if you think one shared hosting account can handle them all, go for it. Otherwise, if they have quite some traffic you should go for a dedicated server and depending on your experience level, choosing stuff like cPanel, shell access, full managed or not etc etc.

When mentioning to dedicated server, do you have any experience in server management? All they are PHP, mySQL right? So, are you familiar with Linux environment? How busy are the sites?

Go with a managed dedicated server. check out hostgator, server beach, lunarpages, liquidweb.

There are 4 sites which are authority in the niche and gets aroound 10gb traffic in a month, but there are three more picking up and coming up in the serps expecting them to pick up traffic in 2-3 months, so that can add another 10gb-rather than traffic i m worried about managing all under different hosts-its a pain, i hope you all understand that-plus i have added two article sites and directories which have suddenly picked up and draws huge traffic

Nope, no previous experience of managing servers, that of course, i have few pals who have the experience and can get it done and also do the server watch job for me. Sites are pretty busy and traffic is on the increase day by day

You should purchase medium range dedicated server with management plan as your sites are busy and if something goes wrong you will loose money so purchase server with monitoring and management plan.
    Good Luck
