I was wondering whether it was worth becoming a domain reseller just so you can buy your own domains at lower rates? For example, godaddy gives reseler rates for .info's at $1.5 + 0.25/order +2.5% fees of some kind. Works out to just less than $1.8. Or resellerclub gives rates of $1.69 + unknown fees again assuming it to be around $1.8 Open market .info's seem to be around $2.99 or slightly lower with coupon codes. So is it worth it?
Most people get reseller accounts just for lower rates and do not actually 'resell'. I believe Stargate (registrar) mentioned this a while back in a forum. Godaddy isn't a great reseller program to use in this case as they charge a $99/year (?) fee to participate. Godaddy's regular info price is $2.99 and their reseller rate is $1.80. So you'd have to buy 100 infos/year just to break even. Other reseller programs require a down payment to prefund your account but you can use that amount to buy domains.
Bt i am going in resell business also. Now My Site www.DomainDotInfo.com Working and for being reseller u dont need any initial balance. And site with customizable domain is also free.
I have a reseller account for the lower rates, if you have more than 20-30 domains, it is better to get a reseller account.
So, which company would be the ideal one to resell? Please mention stuff like rates, reliability, reputation, customer service, privacy, stuff like that. Note: I dont intend to sell, just buy for myself.
OK, now I am actually getting into the game. So this I need to know. -Which company is worth becoming a reseller of? -Also, what happens if I shut down my reselling thing? Do the domains registered by me automatically get transferred to my parent company?
godaddy have a Discount Domain Club which is $89.99/yr membership, then you get .com - $6.85 .net - $6.99 .info - $2.49 +discounts on other domains as well looks like a Ok option than a godaddy reseller account if you are not aiming at reselling
I noticed that the original post is from Dec 07/ any way well you can get with GD reseller program, but there is an annual fee for that. you can get the same plans cheaper from winkdomains.com/reseller who is a super reseller with them or you can see http://reseller.directdot.com good buy rates and you can heve sub resellers under your account too if you shut down, your domains will be handled by the parent company good luck
Thanks for the info. By thw way, does anyone have any idea about ResellerClub? I find their thing quite attractive.
I can help you to set up "pro reseller" for around $125 instead of $199, and your cost will be around $7. Plus few registrations from new customers will bring your own redistration price down. Less than that is short solution and looking for a trouble.
Thank you for the recommendation, We really appreciate that. If you need information about our pricing please take a look here http://reseller.directdot.com/reseller.php?action=pricing If you need any additional information you can PM me or contact us Best of luck
