    I'm also interested in Buddhism, it seems like Buddhists are about the only people who don't force people to believe the way they do. It all seems really peaceful :)

    Just because your parents raised you as a religion doesn't mean you have to claim yourself as that religion for life. For instance, I was raised a christian (maybe until highschool), then went to atheism.

    No, brain washing doesn't have to start at childhood, take a look at Scientology.
