Currently I run a 3 year old Intel Celeron D with 512 RAM. I need a new computer...bad...real bad. In most of the new computers though they offer Vista only and I've heard that Vista causes a heck lot of problems. At least when it first came out.. i'm not sure how it is now. My plan is to buy a 3GB RAM Intel Core 2 Duo...would Windows Vista cause me any problems? Would it be better to downgrade to XP? What are all your experiences with Vista?
If you use VISTA with 3 GB RAM at Intel Core2duo then it works fine as Vista needs more GB RAM to work smoothly. I am using Vista on my laptop which has 1 GB RAM and it works good on that too. Give it a try IMO. DON.
Vista Vista Vista after a failed attempt to downgrade to XP , i decided to embrace my vista. >O< alot of compatibility issues but if you google you will find the answer to most of them. i have to say i love the search functions in vista its very fast. currently running my vista on a 2.5GB of Ram. dual core laptop. media center is the shiznit. also InkBall is a nice brain relaxer
I say try Vista. It may seem annoying and intimidating at first, but you get used to it. (or find ways to get around it ) I constantly get annoying things that say things such as "access denied", "you need higher elevation" blah blah blah...so I use this neat program called "take control." It works for taking over everything ;] Good luck on your frustration!
Vista all the way. Dont try windows vista home basic..must try atleast vista home premium. Also, get min. 1GB RAM, and a decent graphics card.
I am still running a 32-bit computer, so upgrading to Vista is still impossible for me until I upgrade my hardware.
If the applications you work on are compatible with Windows Vista, I would recommend you to upgrade. 3GB of RAM and Core2Duo are quite good to run Vista. Thanks, e = mc²
I wonder...even if you order from a place that let's you customize your unit (heh, I said unit), would they not offer XP as an OS choice?
