If this is not the right forum - I apologize please pm me which would be the right one.

A little over ayear ago I made the calssic mistake of bulk checking some domain names - - "Awesome their available" "I'll buy them on Monday".
Of course Monday came and only 50% were still available - -

Does anyone know how I can find out who registered that domain?
(they let it expire so I got it - so I'd like to send them a belated thankyou note ;)
    Thanks
    Dan

I've learned that sometimes the domains show up available when they arent. happened to me a few times before even with namecheap.

Then i do a whois search on them and it says they've been registered for a really long time

www.whois.sc is the search i use. works great :d

You need to perform a 'whois' on the domain in question. To find out exactly what that means go here.

Once the name was regged, you could've done a Whois search via DomainTools.com or some other Whois search site to find out.

I hope now you've learned your lesson. Once you find a name available that you like, reg it immediately!
