Does your forum makes money?

Hi, just wondering, how much profits u guys make from your community monthly, assume your community has 5000+ members. Any forum owners with community of 5000+ can give some advice?

 

3.5k+ members here but only a few dollars a day.

 

may i know your forum url? u can pm me.. are u making from adsense mainly? how many active members are there?

 

Adsense CTR on forums is teh suck. Find something else to advertise with.

I have 3 forums but Adsense is only on 1 because other don't have much traffic

 

People just don't click the ads for various reasons. One, they are regulars - and regulars don't tend to click on ads a whole lot, and Second, they get really ad blind (partly because they are regulars, of course), Third, they are so concerned with reactions to their posts that they really aren't looking for anything else etc etc

Could very well be, even though internet marketers and those kinds of people are usually quite adsense-immune. This forum has SICK traffic, though, I guess that helps a bit.

 

so what others way did you forum owners try to monetize the community?

 

On forums i have never clicked an AdSense ad i do own a forum but i have not earned a penny. I am building it up as big as i can then offer services through it ad sales link sales etc.

AdSense i just don't think is worth focusing on with a forum if you are setting up a forum expect to be in for the long haul before it gets profitable.

If you are looking to make profits from forums, well don't try looking too hard. I've only hardly seen a month where my community has even paid for it's dedicated server payment.

not a good idea to use dp as an example, this forum is positively gigantic

 

Maybe it depends on niche.. To be honestly I do click on ads on this forum, when I see an ad which I am interested in I click. Some time the ad on which I click is being helpfull , to find some info, some service

 

I own three forums, I make large amounts of money from the different portals other than adsense. I suspect people are sick of Google Adsense.

So many people rely on Adsense when there is a forest of other places out there.

Just think a little, what kind of forum it should be that people click on ads instead of reading forum.

I guess you may create some extremely useless forum stuffed with ads. People may accidentally come to it and go further by clicking on some ad.

 

I have an ads forum, just nothing but ads and anything about ads. that converts like crazy but then again, i have had it around a long time
