Hey guys, i use laptop, and i haven't yet wiped my display for a long time, because i know that special screen wipes exist, i saw them in stores, but never bought them i don't know why :)
the other day i told to my friend that i wanna buy them, and asked that does he use to take wipe the screen, and he said he is just using a slightly wet material for this, and heard that these special wipes are harmful.

Any1 knows what's the deal? Should i use a plain wet material to clear the screen or should i buy the special wipes.
    Thanks.

I've been using the special wipes for a long time (make sure you get the wipes for LCD screens) and they've worked fine for me.

If you do use a cloth or something then make sure it's squeezed out very well, your screen will get ruined if it drips down.

That's the reason why I prefer a good old desktop though I have a notebook for use during travel. I pay the least care to my monitor because it is rugged and cleaning is simple :)

In the year and a half of owning my lcd, ive never really cleaned the screen with anything.

I just wipe the dust off every couple of weeks or so

Using a dry rag is the safest option. Maybe even a swiffer.

Chances are your screen isn't dirty, just dusty. Any dry cloth wiped gently across the screen will remove dust. Just don't apply too much pressure. They sell commercial wipes because people will buy them. Not because people need them.

Get real guys. Water and toilet paper is all you need. 2 wet squares to wipe clean (err....), and then 2 dry squares 5 mins later to clean off any paper fibers left behind.

    Exactly!

Anyone who touches my monitors gets their hands cut off.

Be careful with toilet paper and water, as first guy who replied say, cloth or paper should be squeezed out very well, i just read the basic display usage manual, water shouldn't be for long on your display.

Yep. Only use 'damp' toilet paper. You only need to put it under the tap for a millisecond, then squeeze out the drips. It's not brain surgery :)

Use wipes that are coming with the LCD screens, or buy in any TV store.
