those are just tweaking to make a smooth run instead of lags and such.
    only reduce a bit.

but they are better than installing "speed windows" softwares.

to really increase = hardware upgrade

The other day I hit CTRL+ALT+Delete.

I looked at the Processes tab and saw that I had like 50 running. So I went though, Googleing all the file names and found a bunch that I was able to deactivate.

That seemed to speed my PC up a bit.

Did you remove them completely, because they will just come back when you restart. :p

I only have 43 right now...I hate the quicktime's of the worlds though that want to do something (add themselves) all the time in your sys tray

that's where a program like system mechanic earns it's $$, tell s you who, what, where, and when stuff is loading @ startup and most of the time let's you disable or delete the entries

I can't remember where I got the info but I was following some online guide.

I ended up finding the files with the run command and disabling them from there somewhere. I just looked and they are not running and my PC has been off twice now so I think I got them.

I might invest in something like that.

AND if you have stable HW to back it up (namely the memory).

I used to have a Gigabyte MObo that was mental...it would not let me clock to the rated FSB of 200MHz...I had to tune it down to 181 so that it was stable

Invest in a good and high capacity RAM, should you ever want to increase the speed of your PC
