Hi, I have been facing a strange problem for a very long period of time.. I can not download anything ... I mean any .exe file like messenger or Google earth or any small software which has an .Exe file which need to be run for installation.. Co.z of the above problem I do not download anything ....but there are always few things which are needed like Msn Messenger. As soon as I clicked on the download button and the second file starts downloading my system restarts automatically every time. Yesterday I have formatted my hard disk even deleted the partition and created new.. I am using mtnl broadband (256-kbps) Please suggest what to do ?? Umesh
You formated your hard drive and re-installed windows and your still having this problem??? That is odd...
It restarts normally as usual and when I try it again then I face the same problem ..means restarts again as soon as I click to download any .exe file.. I also deleted the partition in the hard drive and made new partitions I though there is some problem in the date but still the problem is there.. I can not down load Msn Messnger . I need it badly..
It might be something to do with ur SMPS or the processor because I had something similar problem a few years back, but my pc used to restart suddenly(anytime) not specifically when downloading etc...
Hi zerosleep thx. for the suggestion .but I would like to add that I tried it on my all Computers (4) but on all I am facing the same problem... I use MTNL broadband which does not stop to download anything .. I have already asked Customer care....
how about checking maybe virus also can cause this. reformat and install mcafee - get it free from AOL
getjimmy - No, you did not get it .. it restarts only when I click on any download button or Install button (as given in image attached) if I disconnect the internet connections then how can I check if it will restart or not coz. I can not get the page off line to download any free software or any .exe file.. pipsbank - yes this is a good suggestion , but as I said I can not install any thing from net even that is free like mcafee and msn messenger and google earth and yahoo emotions and lot of free stuff I can not download anything it just restarts when I try to install any thing ...... Is there something to set the Fan Speed in CMOS ??
