    Hello All,

I just signed up to the new Earth Hour website for 2008 and I thought you might like to take a look and possibly sign up too.

Earth Hour is on 29 March 2008 at 8pm, and it looks like it's going to be really big. So far, as well as Sydney, there'll also be Adelaide, Atlanta, Bangkok, Brisbane, Canberra, Chicago, Christchurch, Copenhagen, Dublin, Manila, Melbourne, Montreal, Odense, Ottawa, Perth, Phoenix, San Francisco, Suva, Tel Aviv, Toronto and Vancouver all turning off their lights for an hour in the name of fighting global warming. And I'm sure there'll be more cities by March.

Sign up for Earth Hour with me by visiting http://www.earthhour.org/user/J2kH and join the movement with me. Turning lights off is for the betterment of this world we all live in.

    Make it a success.
    Thank you all.

You do realise that if every person in every city you mentioned turned off their lights for an hour then their efforts would be more than offset by the increase in carbon emissions of China in about 5 minutes?

I guess, when big companies will turn off their power for an hour. it will be good time for them to test their power backup generators

How do you call this revolution? There is nothing revolutionary in it.

    Good point.

This is such a good move. But I think it would be difficult to do in our area. We are surrounded by plenty of manufacturing plants and I doubt they will turn of their production. Besides they have big generators, they will just used it in case the power shuts off. The problem is, they are diesel powered and it will only add more pollution.

The reality is that no matter what the west does the growth of china and india etc are going to mean co2 output will keep going up.
