youtube doesn't seem to be too bad with the data so far, but I haven't had a firehouse of poorly converting traffic that myspace gives me.

I agree about myspace, get myspace.com excluded, I tried testing out myspace traffic from all their subdomains and it was terrible. Now I've re-excluded myspace.com on my campaigns and adwords still sends that myspace traffic. Even new campaigns I created with myspace.com excluded send myspace traffic when new adgroups are created and activated...

I HATE myspace! and I HATE adwords bugs! and I'm going to HATE adwords support if they don't fix it and compensate me for their bugs.

That is the best statement I've heard today... you can't make ANY money if you're always on these forums...

Actually, medaa25, I think I'm half the reason why this thread kept itself alive.

I'm still here, reading every post, but only replying to pertinent ones that ask a useful question that hasn't been asked already.

Why would I close it? If someone comes in with a good question or wants to have an intelligent conversation on the logistics of the Content Network I'm game. Until then, it looks like it's just going to be people looking to pump up their post counts with "congrats!!" and people asking the same questions (which will go ignored!).

That aside, yea, I am busy, launching tons of shit left and right.

    Hi,

I saw it, unfortunately I don't work with Clickbank, due to their sheer level of all around crappiness (crappy poducts, crappy metrics, crappy reporting, crappy customer service, crappy tracking, you get it), not to mention I had a 75% refund rate when I experimented with them. Garbage.

    $2,000 - $3,000 a day

    AJ and others,

First I want to say thanks for all the advice I've read here and that it's helped me put some things into action. Next I was hoping to ask a couple questions on campaign optimization.

Today was my first day using a funnel system on the content network similar to AJ's and these are my numerical results:

--Clicks: 1076 on Adwords at average cpc of $.16= $170
--315 made it from my contextually relevant (to ad, not offer) landing page through to my merchant landing page.
--10 conversions for revenues of $130

This is for one ad group.

Obviously, at the moment I'm in the red, but at times during the day I was ahead and break even.

    In terms of optimization:

--should I test offering only at a certain time of the day
--do these sorts of numbers suggest an adgroup with potential or should I just try others? I have a system of similar groups I'm setting up to try
--my system from ad click to ringtone convert is most likely not AJ's system but definitely follows its fundamentals.

I was thrilled to get my first ringtone conversion and am proud of the system I've setup for gaining clicks and turning them into sales but obviously the numbers are not on my side yet.

I'd really appreciate any obvious optimization strategies... one place I know I should start is increasing the percentage of people who make it from my landing page to the ringtone page, or at least see if this is possible.

Thanks to everyone who's posted helpful hints in this thread, it's been very useful.

    Cheers!

EDU, I would definetly watch the daily timing metrics. I find that from 2am - 8am EST everything crashes, eCPC, conversions, the whole thing. So cut your bid by 50% or more.

Other then that you are definetly on the right track, $40 in the red is a good sign. Aim to break even...... then go from there

Thanks, that's really helpful, I just found the part of ad scheduling that lets you adjust your bids during certain hours, thought I'd have to do it manually for a second. I'll definitely try that out, last night I let it run unchecked from setup at 3am onwards.

do you have any examples of "thinking outside the box" so that it might get my gears turning?

How long does it take to get traffic on the content network? If you put up a campaign does it take some time?

    Thanks

One thing you have to remember about the content network is to NOT change your ads. Every time you change your advertisement it has to once again be approved by Google. I also believe that each ad group you add also have to be approved by Google. Even if you're using the same ad in your other ad groups.

I also can't believe that none of you guys are interested in my free affiliate marketing ebook. I could be giving away AJ's landing pages and his techniques.

Funniest thing I heard all day! ROFL

Seriously though, maybe should make some decent money yourself before you make an eBook on it.

Well, I guess you can spend the rest of your day laughing and wondering. I'm sure you've missed tons of opportunities because you assumed they wouldn't work. I myself thought affiliate marketing wasn't worth your time until I read this thread. And I heard about affiliate marketing about 5 years ago!!
