Google can give you lot of targeted traffic.

In my case, I some time get %80 gtraffic from google, and some times, just %5

I get about a 50/50 worth of traffic from both. And than I got a few hits from Ask.com which I was surprised.

If both are worked out correctly you can achieve high traffic results from both.

Thanks for all those responses. I found that the response has been inadequate to come to any conclusion. For me too the results are mixed. I also think that the submissions to social websites does influence the traffic from Google even though most of the social media sites are having no follow links. More responses are welcome

In my opinion the whole social media bookmarking method of getting traffic is totally overrated. It's small companies that want you to buy their e-books are the ones telling us that this is the new thing, the way to go, is going to take over, etc. etc. I think it's a load of crap. You can't beat a good position in the Google index.

1st there are a big differences between Google and social media sites. Both are different. Google is a search engines which derives quality visitors to your sites from your targeted keywords. Social Media sites are for basically a hottest news or socially promoted views. So both can derive traffic to your sites it depends your sites are for what purpose.

Exactly. And we all know that Digg.com is valued at half a billion dollars. Wow. But I won't buy it even if I have 10 billion at my disposal.
