Boycott Adsense For a Day

Seems this smart pricing has gotten out of hand.
Google has a business model and business partners (publishers)
that have agreed to their TOS. fine.

I suspect that the Google business model, is that part of the income
or better said, the amount per click charged the advertiser will be divied
up between the publishers site where the click ocurred and Google. fine!

I suspect Google always charges an advertiser for clicks. I havent heard
of an Adsense free advertising campaign. so the question
is: How is it that 3 clicks can amount to .02? sounds like a breach of contract to me.

Google earnings are not simply about clicks but impressions as well. Some advertisers only pay for CPM and you thus you can have 2 cents for 3 clicks.

I've found that adsense earnings can get quite low for certain keywords

It can be either due to CPM advertising where the number of clicks don't matter or because of invalid clicks which were devalued by google. Incase of invalid clicks google refunds the cost of the clicks to advertisers. I've been refunded for fraudulant clicks many times.

I do think a boycott would be cool - maybe even for as long as a week. Google isn't very ethical in their business anymore, and that would take a huge bite out of their revenue. Of course, as a pretty large AdWords advertiser, I would hate it - but only a week would be Ok. :D

I'd boycott for a week, but bills must be paid.

yes a boycott for a day is what would be ideal.
set a date, and list of participating sites.
I think DP members have the clout to make a
change. practically everyone (publishers) reads DP.
and that is really quite a force if organized.

This is a good idea, but I think it fails.

There are a lot of people out there making a lot of money (unfortunately not me), I dont think they will join you, and google cares about them, as they are making a lot of money for G.

No one is going to boycott AdSense (well... almost).
There are just way too many publishers. They are so fragmented that you can't organize them all.
And if it's just you and your friends to boycott AdSense, nothing is going to change.
Besides Google doesn't care about Publishers. Google make money from the Advertisers ;)

Ask Bidvertiser or some other program to give you a hand spreading out the word and increasing your numbers and therefore the effectiveness of the campaign.

Start with one day, but you'll have to work a lot to make it work.

Ultimatey G can't do much without publishers, and these might switch!

    It's all about numbers...

AOL one of the larger sites out there accounts for only 5% of google revenues, and unless you get a bunch of large publishers, google won't even notice.

i am also wondering that, when you get banned it says they will refund the money to advertisers. But so far i only saw 1 advertiser (the one at this thread) claims they get fund back

Rest of the advertisers, including me says thy never get money refunded because of invalid clicks

I would have to dissagree. Dp doesn't have nearly the amount of people to even make google notice.

can i suggest another idea? not everyone will stop using adsense for a day because there are bills to pay.

What we can do is put more money in Google's pocket. Yes and that will hurt them in the long run. Whenever we google search, we can waste advertisers money by clicking on the top sponsored ad or the ads on the side. That way we still get to boycutt google by polluting their conversion rate on their 100% non-smart-priced ads and make advertisers think ads on the search network are "as bad as" those in the content network. Then watch what google do, they should start smart-pricing their own ad and see how they feel!

if you like my idea, spread the idea lol.
