How is good social/m webs for professional sites?

I have professional webs which offer accounting services and company formation in the UK. Well, if I submit them to s/m webs I can get traffic, but this traffic will be dead for my business. The chance that someone is looking for accounting in the UK visiting equal "0". It means social/m webs do not work for proper professional webs. Am I righ or not from SEO point of view?

I have been in a similar situation. Working in the financial industry but we found that you may not get leads from the social content, but what you will get is increased back links. It all depends on what your goal is from the social content. Create social content about accounting not to improve leads from the traffic but to increase the back links and improve your rankings for the terms that do make you money off.

I dont think you should stop... but directories IMO are becoming less and less authoritative.

If you want to do social content for a accounting site, don't just submit your main site. Nothing is social about that.

    Create a site like http://www.yoursite.com/AccountTipsBlog...

On that site get a copy writer to talk about accounting information that you might not find normally on your site....Post titled " Top 10 ways to blow your tax return" or " Horror stories of bad accounting". At the end of each post provide a soft sell for your site. That way you concentrate on links and dont flood your main site with worthless traffic. If the click the soft sell at the end hell thats probably a good lead

I would continue to work your back links as often as possible. You can never have enough.

Please tell me more about on creating "site like http://www.yoursite.com/AccountTipsBlog... " how it affect your traffic... What's the advantages campaigning "domain/page" than campaigning only the domain?

Well you want to build the content on your domain, not a new one first off. After all content is king. In the case of an accounting site, there is absolutely nothing sociable about it. So instead your create a blog, something easily update in a sub directory. This way you can start building up back links to your site through social sites, like technorati, digg, stumble, delicious etc... and people will legitimately like it. If you want after a certain amount of time 301 pages in the blog to your main pages and increase the links to your money making pages. Anything can be catchy its just how your approach it.

Your assumption is correct. But sites like digg.com do add value as far as keywords ranking quickly in the SE. They are a great source of traffic and again the real trick is the KEYWORD that drives people to click to your site. Is that keyword a call to action, or just attracting someone thats out checking out the WWW.

Keywords that convert is where it is at. A lot of SM is just traffic.

    Good luck
