Your point is flawed. The reality today is that Islamic teaching directly calls for the extermination of both Jews and Christians, something not seen in the teachings of either of these religions.

The simple fact that their religions is so close while both religions differ from Christianity in combination with that Israel and USA work togheter against Arab countries, it shows that the problem got nothing to do with religion and it is all about politics and land.

a temple in jewish religion is just a place to worship the god.
it does not require a particular shape or form. regardless if you believe mohammad just copy the torah or not the fact that is the same god is irrefutable
the mosque was built by some people years ago to pray to the same god. the god of Abraham and the god of moses.
that makes the mosque, the third temple but the jewish and muslem leaders do not want to acknowledge that, as it would make it obvious that they are the same and it will destroy their grip.
it would be a shame for the jews to destroy the third temple.
