Guys hi! I wonder in which way does the compete rank(?) of my site operate? Thanx... What is it? How does it differ from Alexa?
Alexa is based on traffic stats. Traffic stas are gathered from users using their toolbar attached to a webrowser.
compete rank is traffic analysis between your site and your competitor's site. alexa rank is based on how many people visit your site that have alexa toolbar installed. wrong forum to post tho...

Actually guys, you're all wrong. PR is crap. Alexa is crap. Rankings are crap. What matters is TARGETED TRAFFIC. Sure..TARGETED TRAFFIC may originate from rankings but if you have a site that users remember & type-in..then you no longer have to rely on G,M,& Y to get paid! GUYS! Think outside of the box!
We cant just neglect both of them - as they do contribute a bit in the rankings and an extra impression to the audience SERPS are on the other hand have more preference then these i'm agreed
Google pr is not crap. good pr can increase traffic which matters a lot for good earnings. PR = backlinks quality and quantity.
PR and alexa rank, both can not much important. The real thing is search results placement for your site.
CompeteRank is supposed to be more accurate than Alexa (because it also uses ISP records to determine a site's popularity), but I would generally not rely on it except as a relative comparison between two sites.
