I notice that whenever I submit my site on stumbleupon the traffic suddenly boost but only for 1 day, no visitors on other day Do you get constant traffic from SU? if so then how do you do it?
People are not in the perfect mood when they are surfing on stumble since they just stumbling upon random sites that are not coneected with each other in any way.
NO, unless you write new articles and posts and submit them all the time, the traffic dies quickly. I have seen one of my blogs get continued traffic from Stumble Upon but it is rare. I wrote a really controversial article on religion once and I seen traffic for three weeks from Stumble Upon. It died after that though. Most of the traffic is just click through but it is free and every once in a while I get a nice ad click or two. It is more than I every see from del.icio.
I've experienced the same reaction from stumble upon readers...no serious traffic though. It usually starts off heavy and dies within a couple of hours for me not even a day. I think the idea of stumble upon is just glancing at sites...and not really bookmarking or returning...just seeing something new in a small amount of time.
I guess the conclusion of this thread can be this "Stumbleupon is not really a good source of getting targeted and constant traffic" How many of you agree on that?
It depends whether your website can retain the visitors or not. If they don't see anything interesting, they will leave after a few secs. But if they like your website, of course they will explore more and return. Really, it is free traffic, you are not paying anything, so you should have some high-quality content to retain the visitors. Otherwise they will just "stumble" to another website and you are left with the conclusion that "Stumbleupon is not really a good source of getting targeted and constant traffic" Oh, and regarding targeted traffic, actually SU does scan your page for certain keywords, so it is "targeted" in some way. But of course it would be extra difficult to get targeted traffic from SU for certain categories, e.g. "make money online", simply because the SU community is not interested in that kind of stuff :/
I would agree. However, for the time it takes to stumble a post it is still worth the effort. Every now and then you will get lucky and get massive traffic.
I get a ton of my traffic through stumble. I think there are a key cards to using stumble. First of all, good site design. Second good content. Third, when you write a review of your article to be stumbled, have a good keyword strategy. UtahLuxury.com
according to me digg and stumbeupon are not really helpful for good traffic. I think stumbleupon is better than digg when we compare them in both cases. Also the stumbleupon spike is really excellent coz you get a high level of traffic and when ever i write big post in my blog I will stumble it. And we should not stumble each and every post.
Depends on what the topic is. Stumble is good for viral stuff that people like to talk about - Digg is good for politics, news, etc etc.
i get 1 to 2 visitors daily,,it depends on the number u've 'iliked' stuff..before i didnt even get those coupl a day..probably with more 'ilikes' it should increase...u have to admit it is fun stumblin..u do get some cool sites out there uve never heard of
iF YOU CAN COMBINE THIS KIND OF TRAFFIC WITH SOME seo WORKS THEN i'M SURE THAT YOU WILL GET SOME VALUABLE READERS.
I've read an interesting article on that: http://www.doshdosh.com/a-comprehensive-guide-to-stumbleupon-how-to-build-massive-traffic-to-your-website-and-monetize-it/ Cheers Bart
I'm still getting traffic 3 months latter on 1 page, the key is, when someone stumbles to your site, they have to give it the thumbs up. While that keeps happening, you will still keep getting traffic.
I think stumble upon traffic is JUNK for many reasons! even that you see "500 visitors" in your stats!
