I picked a few questions to answer (not just to shamelessly give myself a plug) but I also made the answers long and gave them good information. Anyway some 999 error came up so I was wondering (since I didn't answer that many) whether it's quantity of your answering or just answering too quickly that red flags you?
I used to get the same error, so i contact Yahoo help desk and let them know that I was getting it quite often. They repplied me saying they would look after the problem and indeed they did. I never ever got any problem. But back that I could notice that the majority of errors were caused when my answers were composed of one or more link in the body, it might be a start point for you. Good luck Cheers Lucio
I got kicked off for putting my link in the body so watch out for that. The 999 must be something new to warn you before kicking you off. donrock
ya even I am also kicked off. Really the traffic is not that good. And also even though we give correct answers we get flagged at times.
I have never had any problem with Yahoo answers. The trick is to not to use the sample site as your source each time. Its great if you have a collection of sites as you can change domain each time as the source of your answers.
You will definitely get banned or reg flagged if you post one and the same link too often or if you post a comment with a link which doesn't answer a query, contribute or help the discussion. When posting links one should consider it very carefully and do it only when necessary without spamming the answers or something.
I have a solution to 999 errror but it has some problems also with your account with yahoo answers. If you feel like you can give a try to it. Read this blog squidoo.com/yahoo999errorsolution
I noticed that ever time my answer was flagged a competitor was also on the answer list. The same guy on every answer that was flagged. I think that if you place a link in your answer and other answers have links as well, then those other guys will flag your answer to have it removed. Makes me want to just squeeze someones neck til their head pops off!
Key tip: When you get the 999 error it basically means the same answer has appeared to many times in too short of a time on Yahoo answers, what you do is click back and reply with a slightly different answer and thats it. Will.
I LOVE YAHOO ANSWERS AND HAVE MADE OVER 700 DOLLARS IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS USING THEM . . . but have been banned over 6 times LOL but i think i will use different url considering i have just made 2 more site like the one that has made this much this far . . . I LOVE YAHOO ANSWERS !
I include links to my site often in answers, but I did not do so until I had accumulated a lot of points (>1000) and the links I provide to my site are very relevant to the question. I have not had any problems at all. I have gotten a fair bit of traffic referrals from yahoo answers. I have noticed that wording derivations of the question being asked are rated very highly in google. So, if someone in yahoo answers asks "how do I change the blinker fluid on a 2011 pontiac SUX?", someone searching google for that question is going to get the yahoo answer in spot 1 or 2, at least in my experience. So, that does seem to drive a fair amount of "indirect" traffic. The other thing I have noticed is that, though yahoo allegedly honors the nofollow flag, the appearance of a URL in yahoo answers does seem to play a part in their SERP.
yes they are, but the average stickiness from traffic coming from them is impressive. Worth 5 minutes answering question on your area
I have been banned 3 times. But you can just open another account with another email. I now have 3 accounts. I tend to answer questions that I know are in my field and do not just flat out spam. That way you are less likely to get banned. I also then log on my other account and give myself thumbs up and say " I agree with the poster above." "I applied for a credit card from that site and got approved", etc. I only answer about 10 questions a day. Thinking about expanding
LOL you cant tell people this deep into the " secret " LOL i am just kidding BUT i have done it once or twice also . . . and IT DEFINITELY helps to gain more traffic
by sending traffic to a particular website that sells products (your products for example) or by sending them to your affiliate links.
