    You need to customize it, logo, colors, etc. It seems like what the Social Engine script looks like out of the box.

    Well its nice, but yea it's just out of the box. I doubt people will feel like joining when you have space saying 'great place for an ad'.

    You may struggle to get that off the ground mate, there is little point in signing up to an empty social site...

    Yet another social networking site, I don't know if there is room for another one. However I don't want to discourage you. Try to identify a specific niche for your network, something for scientific community or for music or something like that. That's going to be the next thing in social networking.

    I would also recommend you to design your logo.
