First of all there are not 100,000 search engines out there. That is just advertisement, and waste of your money. Second if you are indexed in google, yahoo, msn and ask and you keep on submitting you will get penalized for that, so be careful of what you doing. And smaller or new search engines follow big guys steps.

It won't make any good. In fact it could even penalize your site, since this is not natural.

Many buy a simple script and there you go, you set it up and have a search engine.

You can also piggy back other search engines' results or merge them, and you have a search engine.

So many, so minimal traffic for each of them, only the big players, and G is by far the biggest, get and bring you some traffic. You can ignore the rest in most cases, unless it's a niche and well promoted one.

I think there are free scripts too, somewhere, so you got the picture now.

I think "search engine" is a pretty loosely used term. As someone mentioned they are probably most all ffa pages. If you've ever been to one of those pages, your link will be there for about 30 minutes before it falls off due to all the auto-submitters posting more links.

There is expensive software out there that will submit to about a half million "search engines and directories". Take it from someone who blew the $250: I did just as well on sites that were only submitted to the big three, which coast $0 :)

yeah, i thought they were effectively scams, i've only submitted to the top 250(?) and i did not submit to every google search engine (like UK and France) becuase of fear of being banned... but thanks everyone for clearing this up for me ;)

Well, base on my experience... After hiring a person to submit my site to 1xx xxx of search engines. It gives me $xx sale after the first 2 days.

100,000 search engines is not truthful. Most likely they mean 100,000 search engines, directories, etc. Maybe 100-200 submissions actually go to search engines and the rest are posted on spammy sites.

How can getting so many links, on spammy sites, be helpful in SEO? It's not. If anything, it throws up a red flag that you are spamming the Internet with your link. Not something I would advise anyone who values their SERPS to do.

I know a lot of people have different opinions about this , but the truth is that sometimes the smaller engines and directories can bring you traffic that you might not have gotten otherwise. Some of the smaller engines and FFA's don't necessarily get your info from the big 3, so submitting it to all those other ones does help sometimes. Just my 2 cents.

If that was done automatically it probably make your site marked as spam
