How can this forum hurt rankings... Thus, this forum boosts rankings... That's a great lie.. This forum is authority site... That user maybe banned from DP and hating DP...Lol.
the one who wrote the blog is really happy cause he got a lot of traffic. although, his way on getting the traffic is not nice it seems to work cause there are many who went to read it. i don't even bother looking at it so that the author wont benefit from me...lol
If its really so, i am sure the owner of that blog would quickly ask for removal of the link on the first post of this thread, if its harmful. DP forum does not harm any of the web rank outside, infact, the true thing about DP forum, is that it bring more traffic(which i think, the blogstorm would be getting now.). There might be some misunderstand about what the owner's website mentioned. I only believe what bbc, google news, dp news(there is one), and my home tv news.
This thread is similar to this : http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=727462 Is it the same thread?
I think it's just a matter of personal opinion and nothing else. It's up to the people to interpret it. Until we hear something from google, it is still an unconfirmed statement.
I have a couple of domains that I'm not using, so if people want we can try an experiment. I'll put identical pages up on the domains. We need enough people to link to both domains from the same web pages to get it a PR of something >0 then, we'll post links to one from DP and see if the rank goes up or down. I need volunteers to link to the pages.
Absolutely nonsense to me, how can linking to DP harms your site ranking, as DP was the first adsense revenue sharing forum that deal with GOOgle...
I'm happy to register new random domains, rotate any ads for even revenue sharing between experiment participants or leave the site ad free, and I'll let the domains expire after a year. If I just wanted links to my site there are easier ways than this to get them than getting random links to random domains with no content in them.
I am mad4 and I am the person who writes Blogstorm. How can you agree with mad4 but disagree with what I wrote on Blogstorm? Err I don't seem to be banned...... I am talking about linking TO www.digitalpoint.com and not getting links FROM digitalpoint.com
Wow, I think this thread is one of the best examples of a forum mob mentality. ~90% of the people who posted in this thread either didn't read the original blog post or weren't capable of comprehending what Patrick was saying. Before anyone else makes another worthless post, listen to what Patrick is saying: Either way, HE'S NOT TALKING ABOUT THE FORUMS (forums.digitalpoint.com). While many of you are obviously unaware of this, DigitalPoint isn't just a forum, it's actually a company that sells software. Also, I saw way too many posts saying something along the lines of "linking to bad sources won't hurt your ranking." If you really believe that, then you haven't even taken the time to read Google's public, simple Webmaster Guidelines. So, the purpose of my rant is that before you act like a sheep and make a post that mirrors the rest of the crowd, make sure you actually READ the material you are posting about and then try to have a few thoughts of your own before making your post
