we've all seen "submit to 100,000 search engines" false? or is this a good marketing idea? surely this creates alot of back links?

am i wrong, or are there bad repercussions?

any info would be great! :)

Not sure about that, but submitting to search engines should bring your site loads of traffic.

There's no point submitting your site to thousands of unknown search engines. Only submit to big search engines.. google, yahoo and msn.

I did not even think there could be so many search engines . But if i am correct would that still create a one way link?

No, it would show you as a result, but it wouldn't create a backlink.

most of those links will be on ffa link pages, classified ad sites, etc. google does not like link farms, and i see this as risky.

I realized that those are useless as the other search engines outside of Google + MSN + Yahoo don't give much traffic. In fact, I don't see them giving me 1 hit when Google is giving me 60...

A spiderable link to the website, better if from a high PR page, is more than enough.

Search engines would find the website with now submission needed.

Want to speed up the process? Submit to the bigger ones as suggested.

Want to make sure it happens smoothly? Make sure that the site/page and link are search engine friendly...

Most of the time, you just need to be listed in the top 10...and the rest will follow.

All good search engines will find you on their own. I would just concentrate on backlinks.

No it will not create any type of link, since a site's information is stored in database and robots has no access to it.
