Dear friends, I think its time to call it quits

Hello all,
After many years of web developing and maintaining websites, I have finally come to the decision of possibly quiting. I am now 19 years old and my last site I own is http://www.nexwiki.org which I launched a few weeks ago. I believe it has some potential but I do not know how to market it in anyway and I am just wanting to give up. Anyways, I am thinking of pulling the plug on nexwiki and leaving the internet market. I am thinking of saving up money and moving down to L.A. to do some photography (paparazzi maybe? heard they make good money).


Actually I am not sure to be honest, my main question is that if I wanted to sell nexwiki.org, how much do you think I can get for it? I spent countless hours on web designing it and creating templates and such. If I can sell it for 2500 I would be able to get out of my debt.

By making that site 100% anonymous is a bad idea, IMO. You eliminate ANY and EVERY chance of building a userbase which will help you raise capital for the site.

If you have any questions or are confused, you should PM me. Don't sell it for less than 2500. It has a lot of Web 2.0 potential.

Cool website you got there. Should hold onto this for some time to realise its potential. But wiki clone websites
are not big money earners unless you monetize them.

If you can generate traffic and revenue you can go in for a good sale.

Just from the looks of it, you would be able to make a good amount of money off of it. Most likely $2500. I am also deciding to quit soon, better sooner than later while still young. :]

I'm quitting because I don't enjoy forums anymore, I'm burnt out and I definately just have too much going on for forums in general to have a place in my life.

You should save this somewhere.

 

Try out different revenue models. You might earn more than what you are thinking to sell it off for !

 

Although I like the concept I highly dislike sites made for "the lulz". Seems like there are some "not so good" going on in there. When it comes to price I dont think you can get a lot. Maybe a hundred dollars or so?

 

its not made for "lulz" intentiionally, people just add lulz articles.

 

I guess it's possible to deal with that by just banning their IPs?

 

Yes thats what i am doing,

i just add their ip here and they cant see the wiki again.
