Email Marketing Dedicated Server

I want to change my dedicated server company and I'm not sure what company to use.

I'm an ESP (Email Service Provider) and send like 50.000 emails per month to multiple lists that my customers provide.

I work with legitm lists where my customers sign a contract where they guaranty that the list is optin confirmed and not rented, purchased...

I consider to start with 1and1 Managed Server: Business 1 package (99 USD) or with HostGator: Basic (linux dedicated server) package (174 USD).

Now the differnce in price is almost double for HostGator server and I'm wondering if anyone here use 1and1 or Hostgator dedicated servers for Email Marketing?

I contacted both companies and there is no limit for sending emails per hour either for 1and1 or Hostgator servers.

Are you an ESP or Email Marketer that sends like 50k emails per month, what is your dedicated server company and how much do you pay?

    Thank you@

With a dedicated server, you can setup schedule for sending out. Don't send all 50K at once, then you can be fine with those servers. Our servers process millions messages per month without trouble.

For reference, I know HG sponsors server for newsletter sending out for WHT. And 1and1, mostly I hear bad things about their support service. If limited in those 2 vendors, I would use HG

1and1 Managed Server is NOT a dedicated server. It's a managed server, of course.
Though they also offer dedicated server, but those two are different. If you'll sign up for 1and1's dedicated server, server administration will be given to you. They won't help you with that. They only cater hardware and network issues for dedicated servers.
And yep, there's no limit for sending emails on 1and1's dedicated server. I have a client who's having a dedi box with them for 4 months now.

Some host just try to oversell their hosting products by offering such "no limit for sending emails per hour" actually a reliable host will put limit for out-going emails for certain number ( as my host Webhosting.uk.com have ) so as to keep network clean.

I have heard few bad things for Hostgator IMO they are still in market because of their aggressive advertisement policy.

Don't need to mention your host here ;) The OP is asking about dedicated server, not shared hosting. With dedicated server, he can setup his own rules for sending out.

    I had 1and1 dedicated windows server before;

you must be from Us/Canada to buy server from them.

before contract they say that they would let you to do many things on your server.

but when you get the server, they wouldn`t.

I ask them that can I sell VPN on my server, they said yes.

but after 1.5 month they emailed me that you wouldn`t be allowed to do that.

but two of my friends have hostgator and they are very pleased with that. :)
