http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/03/07/ron.paul.ap/index.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rk_vVaZxTno Wait, wasn't he going to be the next US president? .. Never the less Ron Paul had the most die hard supporters I've ever seen.
The revolution has just started. ROP has lite a flame of hope for alot of americans who had lost hope(me included). Like i said before, another 4 years of another puppet president and the people will finally wake up and smell teh coffee and scream for change.
Unless he gives up and never runs again, he will become president one day. He certainly has the potential and the basic support. He'll get his chance next time if Obama/Hilary/Mccain screw up.
Believe me after 4 more years of another puppet president i predict that toopac will switch sides as he usually goes with the popular choice anyways.
Yeah, I kind of figured the campaign was over a few weeks ago. I signed up on his website to get email updates, and received one saying he needs to try to get re-elected to congress. I took that as a big hint that the President gig wasn't going to pan out.
Yeah he is officially gone now. But- i believe when he joined the race he knew he wouldn't win (considering the democratic side this year).. but he was in it for a whole different purpose than becoming president.
The run is over, but the battle is not. We're still working for position in the Republican party. The fruit of this campaign might not come to bear until 2012 or 2016. Lots of reports like this, http://www.nolanchart.com/article3110.html As well as reports of shenanigans from the GOP which might break a record for the number of primary legal challenges they may be facing. This is not about Ron Paul the man, although short of the newsletter fiasco, might be one of the better candidates in a long time. It's about freedom, plain and simple. About some basic human dignity, and the expectation that government is subservient to each and every one of us, not to the monied or powerful interests. Some folks, like my mate Toopac probably can't grasp that. But then, he's from the UK, and we threw off the shackles of their imperial rule over 200 years ago for a vision of independence and liberty.
Only someone who has spent a lifetime living on their knees would argue that sucking to survive is "not so bad".
