I don't know about blogspot, but twice my .com blog was stolen and i installed blog again from the cpanel as they just got my admin username and password and i deleted the data base from cpanel and got installed fresh wordpress, and thus i kicked the guy out,He was from DP.
Now you know why to never, ever give out your admin log/pass to anyone (especially someone you don't actually know).
I'm particularly interested in how .com blog can get hacked as mentioned by sam07. Anything we can do to prevent it?
Well that was a stupid thing to do. Well it was also a blessing. Now you can buy a domain, hosting and start a real blog. Congratulations
Thanks for the err, sympathy, lol. Yep, I've learnt my lesson; no matter how much help someone provides, always maintain control. I've already set up my dotcom. Pity I didn't back up the thing, too. That's a second lesson.
And you can't spam the blog; the person enabled comment moderation to ban me from commenting. The blog is in my feed link, still. It's under re-design by the new owner, lol.
It's not a good idea to give admin access to anyone you don't know personally. Even if the blog was kind of crap, take this as a lesson when you start developing bigger sites!
Just for future reference all you have to do is go into phpmyadmin and you can change your password there (and you only have to do that if they chagned the email address or you can just hit I forgot my password on /wp-admin.) If you don't know how to get to the password in phpmyadmin you can look at a guide like this: http://www.devlounge.net/articles/reset-a-wordpress-password-from-phpmyadmin There are tons of those tutorials, just search google for them if you ever need it.
Dunno, really. I have no other site to put there. Want me to add yours 'til my new blog gets cracking?
Wow, why are you laughing about it? And were you making money or had good stats with that domain/blog? I'm just curious... because I know I would have been pissed!
