I'd day one or two important keywords - else it looks incredibly spammy.

 

If by BBC you mean the code used to markup forum replies then yes the text will count as anchor text.

I tend to go for short anchors if possible (1 phrase with 2 or 3 keywords)

 

Shorter Anchors are best, as they will give more power to each keyword!
