Could I get in trouble for this?

I was at a party last night. There was this girl that I met there and told me she was 17. Later on I was pretty hammered and she had to be at least tipsy. She insisted we go upstairs so of course I agreed.

Now heres the messed up part. The person who had the party has security cameras installed in their house. Now he has a video of me and this girl having sex in this hallway. Come to find out the girl was his 15 year old ex. He threatened to take it to the police if I were ever to piss him off or if he saw me even looking at her again.

If he were to take the video to police would I get in trouble because shes underage and im 18?

Well considering you just confessed on here, plus the video, yeah I'd say you could.
Depends on where you live and the laws there, some states though you'd be labeled a sex offender/felony, in other words kiss your ass good bye. 'all of course depending on your local laws, and if charges are pressed, etc, etc, etc'

Well it wouldnt matter if I confessed or not... they were high quality cameras so you can clearly see both of our faces.

I live in New York. Would it be any different if she told me she was 17 and definitely looked like she was older than 15? There were at least five others who heard her say it.

Every bit of evidence hurts you, be it high definition camera or not.

You'd need to talk to an attorney, might be a real good suggestion to do in the first place.

I guess thats pretty much all I could do at this point. Ill give one of ours a call on Monday, I guess.

Is there anyone on DP with knowledge of these laws that could give me an idea on how bad I could get in trouble?

Obviously he won't actually send the video to the police if you don't piss or that girl off, so just don't.

Besides, there was alcohol... and minors there, and not sure if he is 21 or not, but still he can land himself in a pile of trouble as well, so why would he risk it?

All great points, one of the reasons I brought up the OP publicly admitting to this.

Yes, even if she lied to you, you can still go to jail. It sucks that a girl can lie about her age and get away with it and point out statutory rape. This causes women who are really raped a lot of grief in the court room as they go through her "dirty laundry."

But yeah, that's statutory rape, depending on the laws in your state you could get in some big trouble including jail time and having to register as a sex offender.

    Well.

If the video shows consensual sex, no struggling, and that she was more than willing, then the video is in your favor, to an extent.

This is a really shitty situation, because no matter what, the male is fucked.
