Hey guys, I thought I'd clear up the topic of "blog posting frequency" and why it is important to stay consistent with how often you write a new article. Check it out and feel free to share some comments with me! I hope you all enjoy the article: Blog Posting Frequency: How Often Should You Post? Thanks, Andrew Pavelski
it's not as important how often you post, but if you are consistent, and if you post topics that interest your readers.
I've just opened my first blog... I'm planning to add at least three articles per week (optimally more). Though I'll concentrate on making quality posts full of information, not some two paragraph short posts.
if you look at the frequency of the "Top blogs" we're talking 25-30 posts a day .. but i guess it's what you want to accomplish with it
I really do think it depends on a lot of things, your topic, your motives, your time etc. I don't think that you should rush out lots of posts of pretty poor quality but then again, one great post a week is never going to cut it either, its a bit of a balance!
Writing good unique and attractive content 3-4 times a week is enough, just imagine how often google would visit your blog for indexing. Moreover you are feeding regular content every week making your blog look fresh.
I will post weekly twice. Some of the blogs like make money online, I'll post regularly say, daily. Then only, I can maintain my position in Google for the terms like "make quick money", earn money online, etc,.
I agree you must post some thing several times per week. However, if you want to aggressively increase your rss subscribers and give readers something to constantly do - posting daily (in my experience) is a much better option.
I aim for once per day, sometimes twice if one of the posts isn't really long or just a coupon or something.
Don't know if I agree with that strategy 100%. If a person doesn't check their RSS feeds daily, posting once or more per day is going to fill up the feed reader pretty quick. If a person sits down twice a week to browse their feeds, they might just skip over most of your articles. Posting more slowly (~3 times per week) is more reasonable for people to regularly consume every article in a feed. If, on the other hand, your goal is to get a lot of content indexed by search engines, posting once or more per day is a good idea. You probably won't get as many people subscribing to your feed if you're constantly pumping out articles, but you'll get a lot of good content to pull in organic traffic. I'd go for a variety of these two methods. Start off with a blitzkrieg of sorts - post a good deal of content early on to get a lot of pages indexed. Once you've got a stream of organic traffic coming in, you can slow down to a couple of posts a week to attract more subscribers and reinforce your organic traffic. - Walkere
