Looks like some CJ affiliates have been contacted to immediately cancel their membership with the rival pepperjamNETWORK. I don't know the details but it looks like a shady business to me. Legal or not, it makes CJ look very bad. More info at pepperjamBlog.
You've completely misinterpreted the post. CJ is not calling affiliates, they are calling the advertisers on CJ that Pepperjam manages affiliate programs for. They're not being told to leave PJN, but to terminate the affiliate program management by PJ of their CJ program.
Oh, you are right. I just scanned the post and wrongly assumed that clients = affiliates. Thanks for clearing that out.
Wow thats really interesting...why wouldn't CJ be upset that a company that manages programs in CJ would launch their own network. Pepperjam can take affiliates from CJ and move them to their network and merchants.
They are managing merchants that run through CJ and clearly launching their own network is a conflict of interest...
CJ is the best affiliate network for sure, they have the best brand-name merchants and the best affiliates on the planet. I manage several large CJ affiliate programs and they are all doing wonderfully. The interface is great and I never have a problem explaining how to pull links and banners for our merchants. I do know a few merchants that have launched in Pepperjam and they have said that so far no revenue is coming in, so its like comparing an elephant to an ameoba at this point. But the reason CJ is so mad is because since Pepperjam manages quite a few CJ programs they can easily rob them of good performing affiliates and merchant. I see a lawsuit coming..
