Adsense on directories, is it allowed?

If it is, why are not people using it? I can't remeber the last time I saw some ads on a directory.

Thanks, guess that answered my question.

Still don't get it why so many directories don't have ads though :)

Because the CTR on directories is very poor, I also recently took off adsense from my directory and I am now using affiliate links.

I've seen many directories running AdSense. It's allowed.
However as the other said, the CTR is horrible and that's normal given the auditory ;)

Adsense is indeed allowed on directories.

Directories are like any other site, it's all about your audience/visitors and their tendency to click or not click.

Yes, I have seen many directories with adsense.

"Still don't get it why so many directories don't have ads though "

I think because the CTR for directories is very low.

In fact CTR for directories is even lower than CTR for forums.

It's allowed but it really does not covert well at all. Thousands of impressions but without a single click in my experience.

I have saw many directories put google adsense on their sites, for some do not, maybe they get money mainly from paid submitting.
