i should have read some more posts a bit farther down :D I got it figured out, but now I have a question.

Heres the details of one of my sales:
    $329.95 $3.79 $1.9

the sale price is 330, why did i only make 1.9 in commission? i thought the commision schedule was like ~11% for items in that range?

I thought that as well until someone pointed out that you only get a percentage of whatever ebay charges for the listing. In the UK this is currently 30% of their charges. Last month for example, I sold £844 worth of ebay goods through my site and I received about £7 commission. I've been having a good look at what's been sold to see if it might be better to become a trader. It wasn't much good loking though. I just haven't got the room to stock the goods. Oh well. Back to the drawing board to work out how this time next year I can be a millionaire.

Yes I have in CJ, It's kind of misleading. It appears in CJ that the total sale price is what commission is based on, but I read on ebays own affiliate site that they pay commission based on their revenues, which makes sense, but I did not realize that initially.

Join the club,I bet about 25% of us thought this too,I did. But it makes total sense why would ebay give you half of what someone elses item sold for? Don't get to down though, you can still make some $$$ through sales and sign ups, just not the millions we invisioned.

hehe, i had envisioned a lot more than what ive made, ive made 10 sales in the 3 days since i started this and its a lot less than what id hoped, but it should still be a pretty good first month :)

Whatever you do... DON'T use a third party web site to analyze your CJ reports. All they do is steal your niches

Download and open an xls report, the auction ID is the second number in the Order_ID column.

    My thoughts exactly.

I've decided it's better in some cases to go with advertisers who pay 5% to 10% commission on sales. I shall be promoting these goods where I can in the future.
