I was wondering, if i had 1000 links pointing to my website but each link didnt have any anchor txt just the link address would the site actually rank for any keyword?
Agreed, the links would boost the rankings of the keywords you are targetting with your on-page optimization. But not in a very efficient manner. It's possible that you would get some juice from whatever keywords are optimized on the page that is linking to you, but I'm not 100% about that.
You might still rank for a keyword, even without anchor text on those links, if you had, for example: • the keyword in your title tag • the keyword in the file path of your URL — e.g., www(dot)yourdomain.com/keyword.html • the keyword occurring a number of times in the text of the page But why would you want to waste all those nice links by failing to use keyword-rich anchor text in them?
Same here... Don't waste your time sending your links without having an anchor text... It can be useful too but not efficient unlike if you use anchor text... It is so sad too hear from you that you have 1000 links that you have wasted... Anyways, just make up for your wasted efforts...
If you have placed keywords in title tag, search engine will find keyword from link and your site may get ranking for those keywords.
I think its best to use anchor text as without it, I think the links will still count but not like anchor text links
NO, IT WOULDN'T... UNLESS your targeted keywords is in your domain name, its ok if you dont put anchor text.
you'll definitely going to have a very hard time ranking... lets say your site is about computer and the keyword searched is death penalty, will it find your site? that's what literally means any keyword, right?
I have many image links from PR7 sites that have had a huge boost on my SERPS, Google looks at the page you come from and the page its linking too. Also when a large site such as the BBC releases an article it can be highly placed in Google quickly without backlinks, this is because it has a good authority and it gets this from good links regardless of anchor text. Anchor'less text will still boost site authority as any other link would which will boost SERPS for onsite optimized keywords.
