If it's a new website there's no deal on it... but if already takes a month or years .... there will be changes on your SERP's

I would take ssandecki's suggestion... you don't need 'webgamesnetwork.com' in your title/description, as you're automatically ranked high for that keyword (it's your URL)

I agree. If your url ranks high as a keyword, you should keep it. Changing the description might help. But how much of a change is SERPs would one expect from changing the description on the homepage?

I couldn't imagine seeing a drastic change, if a change is noticed at all.

Isnt "Free Online Games" a better search term??

I agree remove your site url from the title, keep the web games part, but the network.com part is waste. What about other phrases like "Flash".

    How about,

Play The Best Free Online Games with Friends. 1000s of Free Online Flash Games!! High Score Ranks and Gaming Forums!

There is a big impact on your SERP ranking when you change your keyword. Possible that your keyword ranking will go down. If your site is newly launched then there is no big deal on it. But if your site takes month or two then you defintely build more links on it in order to show your keywords again.

If its a new site, then it will be ok, as I have changed Titles+descriptions for 400+ pages for one of my sites, and there was no problem createrd for my site

Changing title is not good for SEO. But if you have done good study about the consequences then I think you can.

changing the title tag will certainly make a difference... but changing your meta description tag shouldn't alter your PR/SERP very much - if any at all.

We are talking about the title here and not the keyword inside the title.

    huh? sorry to confuse:

    changing this:
<title>WebGamesNetwork.com - Play Free Games and Interact With Friends.</title>

    to this:
<title>Play The Best Free Online Games with Friends. 1000s of Free Online Flash Games!! High Score Ranks and Gaming Forums!</title>

Shouldn't have a negative effect, should it? It's using the same keywords (play, free, games, friends, high scores). Of course, it will have some sort of effect on rankings.

    I thought that someone was talking about <meta name="keywords" ...> and <meta name="description" ...>
Changing that should have very little (or even no) effect on PR/SERP.

I'm confusing things... I'm just going to stop talking.

Changing title can have a bigger effect than changing description but they all meant to work together. Its obvious from search results that neither of the 3 has a significant difference but from experience changing title I've either gone up or down a couple of places on thelisting.

Gone are the days when if you got enough back links for a specific keyword you could rank a website. Anyone remember typing George Bush or Weapons of mass destruction brought up some histerical webpages.

But anyway, keep track of any changes you make, if you go down then just change it back to the original and you will go back up quickly. Its trial and error at the end of the day.
